Week 4 - Layout "Total NonStop Action"

I'm running a little late this week/last week.. whatever!! But as promised, my layout is based around our trip to TNA live! This was our second time seeing TNA live and It confirmed my thoughts that while WWE is good and I prefer the TV shows they put out.. TNA can blow them away live. They do so much fan interaction, they have better stage equipment (I've never seen WWE bring the screens or anything unless its a TV taping) and its all around value for money. My sister in law Gill had a blast.. I think we fully converted her now. It was a shame Christopher didn't ahve a ticket.. but maybe next time! The only bad thing was that my dang camera went dead after the first match, but I've sent out a plea to the TNAtion to share pics since for some reason TNAwrestling.com didn't share the Glasgow pics! What's that about!!

The matches we were treated to were :

The Amazing Red def. Chris Sabin
Global Champion Eric Young def. Suicide
Hernandez def. Rhino
Kurt Angle def. Daniels & Desmond Wolfe
Hamada def. Sarita
Tables Match: Team 3D def. Beer Money, Inc. & The British Invasion
TNA World Champion AJ Styles def. Samoa Joe

This layout uses a combination of my Movie Glamour and Ring Rat kits.

Week 4 - 22nd to 28th January 2010

Week 3 - Layout "Loafing Around"

Week 3 - 15th to 21st January 2010

It's been a mixed week this week. I've not been particularly creative. On Tuesday morning I received some distressing news via e-mail. My closest on-line friend Gypsy of Caravan Scraps passed away on Saturday afternoon. She was involved in a head on collosion and was pronounced dead on the scene. Her Husband Terry died in surgery a few hours later. Gypsy was one of the managers of my forum "The North Wing" and we are all devastated at her loss.

Her eldest son Ryan broke the news via e-mail and has been wonderful about keeping her online family involved. He sent me a beautiful rundown of her funeral "service". Eileen and Terry were laid to rest together, in the same coffin which was hand crafted by thier good friend "Carpetner Willie". They had recently sold thier property to a developer in order to pay of medical bills, but the developer granted the family permission to bury thier parents under the old oak tree in the meadow and will leave that area intact as a private cemetery.

Knowing how upset she was at leaving the meadow, its wonderful to know she can stay there always. Neither of them held any regard for religion, being more pagan than anything. So a "service" was held at dawn in the meadow.. attended by most everyone in the small mountain community. I was honoured to have been told that myself and the other North wing staff were named as Honorary pall bearers.

After such a sad start to the week I was cheered some when Christopher gained another badge at Cub Scouts on Wednesday.. He now holds the Animal Carer patch. On Thursday I helped paint my best friends fathers new house then we went for Curry club at a local pub.

We rounded off the week by baking our own bread, which is the theme I chose for this week's layout. Check out our bread baking slideshow!

Week 2 - Layout - "Getting His Stripes"

The scraps used are from my portion of "Catching A Break" a kit I made as part of a team on designer survivor over at Brownie Scraps. The cliparts come from Scouts and are for scout use only! I guess this counts!

Week 2 - Christopher gets his "Stripes"

So there I was struggling for something to scrap about this week - I really didn't want to scrap the bathroom incident! When last night Christopher runs in the door after Scouts with the biggest grin on his face! He made Sixer!! That means he is in charge of his little pack of six. He acts as a role model and makes uniform checks before inspection and generally acts as a representative of the troop. I was actually a sixer at Brownies 18 years ago! I'm so proud of my little man! Scouts have a long history with the military and getting his stripes is a huge honour. Sixers are chosen for attendance, respect and conduct. The downfall was me having to sew on yet more patches! But here he is showing them off.

Week 2 - 8th to 14th January

So it's been quite an eventful week so far! The snow is still hanging around although this morning it looked like the thaw was beginning. The grass is peeping through the snow and the roads are turning to slush. In a way I'm gonna miss the snow. Everything looks so much prettier!! However, it's about time we got back to normal!

We had some drama on Saturday when we awoke to find our toilet backed up (we suspect the outside portion of the waste pipe froze) So after a few failed attempts at unblocking, we set about calling the emergency help line to get a repair.. to cut a long story short it took over 27 hours to get through - yes, to the EMERGENCY line. We ended up having to decamp to Robert's mum's overnight as we could not possible have Christopher without proper toilet facilities. We finally got through to someone on Sunday afternoon who arranged a plumber, but of course we rushed home to find the blockage had righted itself!

The next piece of excitement involves my life online! You may know that I have a forum called The North Wing. It's currently on Aimoo but this past week they delivered the straw that broke the camels back. We pay for diamond service which assures no adverts, but they sneaked in some "info links" the most intrusive of all adverts cos they appear right there in your forum posts, by linking to words typed by members. We got rid of them within a few hours, but... Gypsy and I decided you know what.. let's go it alone!

So this week I've mainly been working on getting our new site up and running which is going to include a forum, tutorial site and store!

I haven't decided on this weeks layout theme, but I'll be back in a day or two with it!

Week 1 - Layout "Winter"

Credits :- PaperPack "North Pole" by Tyger Wordart by Dydyge Cluster Elements by Tyger

I finished the first layout for my book of 2010! With all the snow on the ground it had to be a wintery page. So Frosty is going to be the star of this page! While journalling I got a touch sentimental. It's not clear on the resized version I made for the blog, but it reads :

"We started 2010 with more snow than Christopher has seen before! It started to snow mid December and as we finish up our first week of 2010 it is still thick on the ground. I think the last time we had heavy snow was about 5 years ago and it only lasted a few days. This is how I remember Winter being, so it was nice to be able to share that with Christopher. We spent some time building a snowman. Christopher named him Frosty!"

It got me thinking how when I was Christopher's age (20 years ago) we had heavy Snowfall all winter. School got closed, cars got stuck but it was a blast, and not a crisis. Last time we had heavy snowfall was 2005, I remember taking Christopher to register for school and it was knee deep. But it rained 2 or 3 days later and it all washed away! This Winter it seems like the worls, or at least the UK has gone crazy. We must have forgotten how to cope with snow, shops are running out of bread and milk partly due to poor driving conditions, but mainly thanks to the panic buyers! The news is filled with snow stories, newspapers have doom laden headlines! It makes me wanna scream RELAX! It's a bit of snow not Armageddon!

So wrap up warm, take care, drink a mug of hot chocolate.. and make snow angels! Go on.. you know you want to!

If you like my layout, it's available as a FREE quickpage Here - my treat!

Week 1 - Video - Snow Bound

A short video from outside my house on the day the snow fell heaviest, I think around 22nd December, this was shot at just 4pm believe it or not. It's so dark! lol

Week 1 - 1st - 7th January 2010

What a start to the new year (and the new decade)! Since about December 18th we've had snow, snow, snow and oh yes, more snow! I'm a fan of snow and it's been kinda nice because it's not all that often we actually get real snow! I remember about 5 years ago taking my son to school to register and the snow being knee deep , but only for about a week. The last time before that was about 20 years ago, I recall not being able to go to school or anything cos it got so bad. I'm sure we've had a few days here and there but It's never snowed almost daily for this long before. The forecast is for it to keep up for 2 more weeks.

Unfortunately I've also started the year off pretty sick with flu and bronchitis, so New Year's Eve was a bust, just the 3 of us eating grapes and pringles cause we hadn't gotten to the shop for cakes etc. Chris stayed up and we let him have a little bit of shandy to drink. It's the first time he's made it to midnight, and even then it was only cause I sent him for a nap between ten and half past eleven.

So I guess we know what the theme for this weeks layout will be - SNOW!

I'll get on that shortly, but for now here are a few pictures from early in the week
